Mary Emma Wilson

The above was sent with other documents by Gerald McCallum. Its
is possibly a draft obit. It is interpreted as:
Mary Emma Wilson was the daughter of Elizabeth
Schaffer and Reuben Grimes and was born Aug. 24, 1861 on the farm
adjoining the one where she died Feb 20, 1931 at the age of 69 years, 5
months and 27 days.
She is survived by her husband John Wilson and their
four children, Daniel W. of Alliance, Mrs. Leroy McCallum of Paris,
Ohio, Mrs. Homer T. Silver of Youngstown, Mrs. Clifford J. Rufe of the
home, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A brother,
Jerry Grimes, preceded her in death in 1928 and a sister Mrs. Lavinia
Wallace, died 1929. A grandson, Lorin Wilson, lost his life in
the battle of the Argonne during the World War.
Her entire life was spend in this immediate
vicinity. As a young woman she identified herself with the
Beechwood United Brethern Church where the names of Schaffer and Grimes
have been enrolled for generations. She was devoted to her home,
her family, and community interests, especially enjoying the Missionary
Society of her church.
Mrs. Wilson was always interested in those less
fortunate than herself. She always had some individual or
several, outside of her own family, for whom she was doing
things. Thus is brought to a close a quiet life of humble service
for others and now the life in the better land is begun, the life which
shall have no interruptions and so end, for-
"There is a world above,
Where parting is unknown;
A whole eternity of love
Form'd for the good along;
And faith beholds the dying here
Transplanted to that happier sphere."
